Okaloosa Island Real Estate
Stretched luxuriously along northwest Florida's Emerald Coast, on a sun-drenched strip of land two and a half miles long and a quarter mile wide, is the paradise that is Okaloosa Island. This luxury community is famous for its ocean pier extending across a sugar sand beach into the Gulf of Mexico. Residents and visitors here enjoy a wide variety of year-round boardwalk attractions like charming oceanfront restaurants, live music, and many great shopping spots. And for those who enjoy simply going for a stroll on the pier, the sparkling ocean view and incredible sunsets are always waiting. From the pier you might also catch sight of Okaloosa Island's famous "dancing dolphins" which mesmerize visitors as they twist and turn in the shallows along the sound here. Other popular attractions in the Okaloosa Island real estate area include the Gulfarium, one of the oldest aquariums in the country, the Focus Science Center, and the Indian Temple Mound Museum. "Okaloosa Island" isn't technically an island, or an incorporated community. The name refers to the western section of Santa Rosa Island within Okaloosa County, where the widest diversity of neighborhoods and commercial spots can be found.
